HERE FOR

Our students help make our communities what they are. Our communities help make Columbus what it is.

And we’re here for it.

A great deal of work goes into the making of a community like Central Ohio and a capital city like Columbus: unique and inclusive neighborhoods, diverse residents and groups, a vibrant downtown, and Columbus College of Art & Design students who create, invest in, and advocate for them.

Invest in Here for Change: A Campaign for The CCAD Way.

And support students who are both educated in the art of making things — creating new businesses and remaking neglected neighborhoods — and skilled in the art of making those things beautiful, accessible, useful, and inclusive.

We are Columbus College of Art & Design, the very art of the Columbus community, and we’re here for the students that make us, US.

One of the main lessons I learned at CCAD that I still carry with me both in business and my personal life is understanding design on many different levels. It allows me to create my own aesthetic and understand my personal preferences–why I like what I like, and why I design things the way that I do.”

Central Ohio’s best kept secret? CCAD alumni. They’re not all creating art, but they are creating what’s next. They see and understand the whole picture. They start and run well-known businesses. They solve problems. And they’re everywhere. But you might not know it. Until you do. Then you can’t unknow it.”

At CCAD, I learned to listen, really listen. Through genuine, caring, and human conversations with my professors and peers, I embraced their feedback. Now I use that skill, the art of listening, to network with, listen to, and help our clients make a difference in the world.”

If artists are those that most readily imbue creativity, and creativity is what enriches, builds, and improves our community, then any space or place is better with artists. And Columbus is no different, thanks to CCAD alum.”

At CCAD you learn to have confidence in your ideas and creations because you present and defend them over and over again. I think you also learn to think big – big picture, large scale and beyond yourself. It’s kind of the secret advantage of being an artist in the corporate world.”

Heather Lynn Kyle (Fine Arts, ‘08)
Immediate Past President, Wild Goose Creative

One of the greatest strengths artists and entrepreneurs can have is the ability to pivot. CCAD taught me that mistakes and criticism actually make you and your work better. I use this mindset every day. Obstacle? Push through it. Criticism? Adapt. Today, I live for customer feedback.”
